Bowie’s Best Athlete

This week’s Bowie’s Best Athlete of the Week is Rebekah Dannar of New Boston. A 16 year veteran of the Bowie’s Best Special Olympics team, Rebekah participates in the spring track and field events and fall co-ed softball. Rebekah said her favorite thing about participating in the games is that she is able to spend time with her friends and teammates who are like her and meeting new people in the different cities they compete. She says her hope is to never be too old to participate in the Special Olympics events. Outside of the games, Rebekah says she likes to meet new people, learn new things and just being herself. “Sometimes people don’t get why I am me, but I tell them God makes no mistakes and I’m super special to him and my mom,” she added.
