Lady Lions, Lady Pirates win

Lady Lions end district season unbeaten

The New Boston Lady Lions celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday by beating the Redwater Lady Dragons in three straight by a score of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-20.

The Lady Lions ended the district season with a perfect 12-0 record and a district championship, and now enter the postseason as the top seed.

Last night was a night for kills, and a host of Lady Lions got into the action.

Laren Hurst and senior Carleigh Reeves each blasted eight kills, and Tamiya Smith was just one notch behind with seven. Haley McAlexander and Carlee Ratcliff added three more.

McAlexander also posted 27 assists in the match and Ratcliff tallied 28 digs and led the way with nine points from the service line.

Maggie Taylor also got into the stats frenzy with 13 digs.



Another big winner Tuesday night was the Lady Pirates from James Bowie.

The Lady Pirates knocked off the Lady Eagles from Detroit in a neck and neck battle  by a score of 25-23, 15-25, 26-24 and 25-21

Jaycee Littleton paced James Bowie with 10 points from service and 14 kills. Also coming up big for the ladies from Simms were Katie Jo Vaughn with 13 kills, Emily Latham with 27 assists and Sarah Bruce with 17 digs.
