Hornets blowout Chisum in tournament play

In continuing tournament action this Thursday, the DeKalb Lady Bears won their second game of the day by downing Beckville 6-1.

The Lady Bears racked up seven hits in the game, including a homerun by Bailey Barger in the 5th and an RBI single in the 1st inning by Hanna Mullins.

On the mound, Makaila Daniels earned the win for DeKalb, tossing a great game allowing just one run on two hits in four plus innings of work.

 

In other softball tournament action, the Maud Lady Cardinals were down 16-0 by the Atlanta Lady Rabbs. Brynn Sultz took the loss for the Lady Cards giving up 16 runs on 12 hits in three innings on the hill.

 

In baseball tournament play up in Paris, the Hooks Hornets corralled the host Chisum Mustangs 11-1 fueled by a solid pitching performance by Matthew Hays. Hays pitched five innings allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out three Mustangs.

The Hornets collected 14 hits in the contest including three hits each from Ty Thomerson, Logan Davis and Hays.
