Early signing day nets two local athletes
DeKalb Lady Bears senior Kynli Holder announced her commitment to play volleyball at Henderson State University by signing Wednesday during the early signing day at DeKalb High School. She is the daughter of Kolby and Morgan Holder of DeKalb. Kynli stated, “I have attended volleyball camp at Henderson since 7th grade and was familiar with the school.
When I met Coach McDaniel and the rest of the coaching staff at HSU, I knew this was the perfect place for me to call home. It’s a great school and program not too far from home. I can’t wait to be a part of the Reddie family and make more memories doing what I love.” Holder continued by saying, “It is a lot of weight lifted off of my shoulders knowing that I have somewhere to go after high school and that I am playing volleyball…It means that I have committed to play somewhere so I need to work harder than ever and prove that I am supposed to be there.” “Kynli is the type of kid you want on your team. Coachable, works hard, & has a great attitude
. You can put her out there and she can play any position. I am extremely excited for Kynli’s future & cannot wait to see her excel at HSU,” said DeKalb Coach Kaci Price. Kynli finished her senior year with 328 kills, 146 digs, 22 blocks, 164 assist and 56 aces and will be majoring in biochemistry with plans to apply to pharmacy school.
