Hooks High School is welcoming home one of their own as 2012 graduate and all around athlete Kendrick Henderson joins the Hornet coaching staff.
Hooks High School is welcoming home one of their own as 2012 graduate and all around athlete Kendrick Henderson joins the Hornet coaching staff.
This week’s Bowie’s Best Athlete of the Week is Schyanna Brooks of New Boston. The 22-year-old athlete is a veteran of the Special Olympics team, being a member since she was eight. Schyanna competes in the softball throw, the 50-meter dash and as a member of the 4x100-meter relay during the spring track and field. Last year was her first year playing for the fall softball team. Schyanna is a 2023 graduate of New Boston High School where she was a Sparkle Lion cheerleader for seven years. COVID kept her from cheering in the 2021 year. She says she will continue competing in the games for as long as she is able. She hopes to attend day services at Opportunities, Inc., in Texarkana post-graduation.
The New Boston Lions are welcoming a new Girls Coordinator with a very successful track record to the coaching staff.
