Joy Dean Whitten age 91 of New Boston, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her residence.  Mrs. Whitten was born July 10, 1929 in Sherman, Texas.  She was retired as a Manager with the Texas Employment Commission and member of Rock Creek Baptist Chruch.            

 

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Whitten of New Boston, Texas, one daughter, Catherine Yoder of Arkansas,  two sons and a daughter in law, James Loyd Magers Jr of Arkansas, David and Denise Whitten of Mineola, Texas, Special Foster Daughter, Pattie and Vernon Moore, grandchildren, Jennifer Yoder and Kurt Burnside, Kristen Yoder and Frank Wilson, Nathan Yoder and Britney Bean Yoder, great grandchildren, Luke, Emma and Austin Burnside, Teagen and Hendryx Yoder  and a number of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.in Rock Creek Baptist Church, Maud with Bro. Steve Minter, Bro. Doyce Whitten and Bro. Kenneth Whitten officiating.   Graveside and Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. in West Hill Cemetery,  Sherman, Texas under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas.   Mrs. Whitten will lie in state with visitation from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Rock Creek Baptist. 

 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Creek Baptist Church, Maud, Texas.

 

Covid-19 guidelines set forth by the CDC will be enforced.
