Charlotte L. “Carol” Ensey, 82, of New Boston, Texas passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at a Texarkana, Texas care facility.
Carol was born October 13, 1936 in Cisco, Texas to Jerome Kirby and Mable Nedra Reeves Thetford.  She was the City Secretary for New Boston, Texas for 37 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in New Boston, the Professional Business Women’s Association, the United Way and the Red Hat Society.  She also volunteered as a Girl Scout Troop Leader.   
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Walton Ensey; one sister, Joy Nell Fortner; and one half brother, Bill Cameron.
She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Wilkerson Taylor of New Boston, Texas, Rhonda Ensey of Queen City, Texas, and Geri Ensey of New Boston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Marsha Marbut of Louisiana; one stepson, Robert Walton Ensey, Jr. and his wife, Rose of Tucson, Arizona; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Fred Blake of Houston, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Melvin Otis Thetford of New Boston, Texas and Kirby Clinton and Nancy Thetford of Livingston, Texas; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. 
Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at First Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas with Bro. Gary Terry, Clinton Thetford, and Vicki Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow at Read Hill Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.
Visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
