CHARLOTTE KAY HAWKINS

Charlotte Kay Hawkins of Simms, Texas passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. She was 69.

Charlotte was born February 21, 1953 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Johnnie and Ruby Pearl Russell Barnes. She was a retired transportation officer for Red River Army Depot.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Shellia Barnes; two brothers, William Wayne Barnes, Sr. and Johnny Ray Barnes; and one stepson, Jeremy Hawkins.

He is survived by her husband, Jerry Hawkins of Simms, Texas; one son, Ronald Duke of Marshall, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Briar Helms of Maud, Texas; one stepson, Michael Hawkins and his wife, Catie of New Boston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Amanda Glass and her husband, Justin of De Kalb, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Lora Barnes of De Kalb, Texas and Kelly and Misty Barnes of De Kalb, Texas; seven grandchildren, Keri Duke, Maggie Jo Helms, Jasper Helms, Makayla Hawkins, Haylen Glass, Caroline Glass, and Annie Glass; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Online registration at www.batesfamilyfuneralhome. com.
