Billy O’Neal Barron, 78, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at his home in Simms, Texas.
Billy was born November 14, 1940 in Bassett, Texas to Robert Coy and Bessie Lee Obenoskey Barron.  He was a retired Heavy Duty Mechanic for Red River Army Depot and was of the Pentecostal faith.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Forsyth Barron of Simms, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dana and Ivan Pickering of Simms, Texas, Glenda Marie Robbins of New Boston, Texas, and Angie and Tony McElroy of Simms, Texas; one sister, Patsy Allen of Simms, Texas; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Mary Barron of Simms, Texas, Jimmy “Bo” and Toni Barron of Simms, Texas, Luke and Glenda Barron of Simms, Texas, Buck and Lillie Barron of Simms, Texas, and Leroy and Debra Barron of Lone Oak, Texas; seven grandchildren, Heather Woodrum, Shane Pickering, Lacy Mier, Lexxi Lundy, Gage Stivers, Christa Stroud, and Corbin Stroud; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. 

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Shannon Crawford and Rev. Roy Ford officiating.  Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Simms, Texas.

Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
