The Maud Public Library is doing their part to keep education and community involvement On Friday they kicked off the summer with the start of their summer reading program.
It is almost time again for the Megan Daniel Annual Memorial Tournament with plans for this year to be the biggest and best ever. This year’s tournament has been given the moniker of “20 for 20” as they plan to raise that $20,000 in scholarship funds on the 20th birthday celebration of Lauren and Megan Daniel. It will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
That is the question we asked a horticulturally savvy friend (we’ll call him K) about eight years ago when our three-year old pecan suddenly died. K asked a few questions: Had we had sprayed an herbicide (No), Are other trees in the area dying (No), and Have you seen any animal activity (No).
“You have enemies? Good. That means you have stood up for something, sometime in your life.” Maybe Victor Hugo wrote that in his journal, or perhaps Winston Churchill penned it. Regardless, those sixteen simple words are profound. Stand up for something, and you will have enemies.
