Maud senior quarterback Gage Jones was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Cardinals’ 78-62 loss to Cumby Friday night.

Jones was 9-20 for 227 yards and five touchdowns passing, and added 156 yards and two more touchdowns rushing in the scoring fest against the Trojans. On the night, Jones accounted for 383 total yards and seven touchdowns to earn the Friday Night Vyve honor.

The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.

For week seven, that player is Maud’s Gage Jones.

“The Vyve Player of the Week represents the best of our communities, and the best of high school football – hard work, determination and integrity,” said Diane Quennoz, Vyve SVP, Marketing and Customer Experience. “Vyve is happy to recognize players like Gage Jones who demonstrate these qualities while representing their team, school and community so honorably each week.”
