Lady Lions rout DeKalb

The New Boston Lady Lions improved to 3-1 in district  as they played park ranger and caged the DeKalb Lady Bears by a score of 14-2.

The Lady Bears got on the scoreboard first with a run in the top of the 1st, but from there it was all Lady Lions as they ripped off runs in each of the next four innings. New Boston scored once in their half of the 1st, two in the 2nd inning, seven in the 3rd and four more in the 4th to put the game far out of reach.

The Lady Lions rocked the DeKalb pitching staff for 14 hits in the game, including a dinger off the bat of Mckenzee Thomas and a 2-2, four RBI night from Alexis Morden.

Alaysia Henderson, Hannah White, Mckenzee Thomas and Madison Thomas each collected multiple hits in the contest for New Boston.

On the hill, Morgan McAlexander got the win and Alexis Morden pitched in relief with the two combining to keep the Lady Bears off the base paths, allowing just two hits each.

Kassidy Barrett homered for the Lady Bears.

The Lady Lions will be on the road Friday to face the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs, with game time scheduled for 5 p.m.
