The basketball season came to an end Monday night for the New Boston Lady Lions and the Redwater Lady Dragons.

The Lady Lions were upended by the Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill Lady Red Devils by a score of 82-41 in a game played at Rivercrest.

The Lady Lions were outscored 22-10 in the first quarter and had no answer for Chapel Hill’s Lyric Grissom, who scored 20 points in the 2nd quarter and went on to lead all scorers in the game with 26 points.

New Boston senior Madison Thomas was in beast mode despite the loss as she scored 24 points in the contest, including a pair of treys.

The Lady Dragons were knocked out of postseason play with a 56-36 loss to Winnsboro in Hallsville.

Karlee Carmony led the Lady Dragon effort with 15 points and senior Savannah Corbell was also in double figures with 11 points.

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs also bowed out in the first round as they were upset in a stunner by the Lady Patriots of Prairiland.
