Mrs. Raney was born in Bowie County on June 15, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Wells and Cornelius (Cash) Wells.

On January 27, 1936, she married William Archie Tutt, who preceded her in death on June 28, 1977.
Mrs. Raney worked at Red River Army Depot for a period but for the most part of her life she was a homemaker. She worked side by side with her sister-in law, Evon Tutt (whom she loved dearly) in the poultry houses. Della and Archie would work endless hours on the farm.

Della married Jesse A. Raney, who preceded her in death on May 8, 1994. Mrs. Raney and Papa Jess would spend their retirement years camping and fishing.

She was a long-time member of Plantation Baptist Church and in her spare time she loved reading her bible, listening to gospel music, crocheting, playing games, and working in her yard. She loved her visits from her brother, Ennis and sister-in-law Ivy. Her greatest treasure was the love of the Lord and extending that love thru her children and grandchildren for them to pass on to theirs.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Raney was preceded in death by her brothers Wesley Wells and wife Betty Lou, Samuel Wells, Lewis Wells and wife Lena Wells. Sisters May Woodard and husband Joe, Willie Lancaster and husband Lester, Adaline Martin, and husband Lonny. Sons WL Tutt and James Tutt. Son-in-Law Henry and Albert Singleton, Bud Hastings and Coy Walraven. Daughter Viola Singleton and Daughter-In-Law Barbara Tutt. Grandsons Nolan and Dewaylon Singleton.

Mrs. Raney is survived by brother Ennis Wells and wife Ivy of Dalton Georgia. Daughters Ruby Singleton and Joyce Walraven of Redwater Texas. Daughter-in-Law Linda Tutt and Sue Barrett. 24 Grandchildren, 50 Great Grandchildren and 45 Great-Great Grandchildren.
